Resumen: Análisis de una encuesta pasada al profesorado de la Escuela Universitaria de Biblioteconomía y Documentación de la Universidad Complutense con el fin de conocer su opinión y actitud hacia los programas de código abierto como una posible solución para su empleo como material didáctico, facilitando así el proceso de convergencia europea en lo referente al título de grado en Información y Documentación. Se concluye que el profesorado de la EUBD es consciente de las ventajas de los programas de código abierto y se manifiesta mayoritariamente favorable al empleo de tales programas, siendo el desconocimiento de su existencia el principal culpable de su falta de utilización por parte de los docentes.
Analysis of a survey passed to the teaching staff of the University School of Library and Information Science of the Complutense University with the purpose of knowing its opinion and attitude towards the open source software like a possible solution for its use like didactic material, facilitating therefore the process of European convergence with respect to the degree in Information and Documentation. The teaching staff of the EUBD is conscious of the advantages of the open source software and are pronounced mainly favourable to the use of such programs, being the ignorance of his existence the main culprit of his lack of use on the part of the educational professionals.

Resumen: Durante los últimos años las Administraciones Públicas españolas asisten a un proceso acelerado para adecuar todo su sistema de gestión a una realidad estructurada en torno a la Sociedad de la Información. Este trabajo se divide en cinco partes. La primera describe el proceso de transformación de las relaciones entre las Administraciones y los ciudadanos y la importancia que la información adquiere en esa interacción, a la vez que enmarca los objetivos de este artículo; la segunda, nos adentra en la realidad de las Islas Baleares a través de la Fundación IBIT como organismo dinamizador de proyectos telemáticos. La tercer parte describe el grado de adaptación de los ciudadanos baleares a esta nueva forma de comunicación con sus Administraciones, y ello a través de los indicadores publicados por el Observatorio Balear de la Sociedad de la Información. La cuarta parte describe la evolución de la totalidad de los ayuntamiento de las Islas Baleares en su adaptación a la web como un instrumento de comunicación corporativa, desde 1997 a la actualidad, además de analizar el estado de los contenidos de las webs corporativas. Este estudio termina con unas conclusiones donde, sobre todo, se busca la convergencia entre la realidad que describen los indicadores de uso de Internet por los ciudadanos, la presencia de los ayuntamiento en la res y sus contenidos.
During the past few years Spain’s Public Administrations have been undergoing an accelerated process of adapting their entire system of management to a reality structured around the Information Society. The present work studies that process of adaptation in the context of the Public Administrations of the Balearic Islands, in particular, of the Local Administration. It consists of five parts. The first briefly describes the process of transformation of the relationships between citizens and their Public Administrations and the importance of information in that interaction, and also sets the framework for the article. The second, which introduces us into the reality of the Balearic Islands, makes a brief reference to the Foundation IBIT as a motor of on-line communication projects. The third describes the degree of adaptation of Balearic citizens to this new form of communication with their Public Administrations as reflected in the indicators published by the Balearic Observatory of the Information Society. The fourth, describes the evolution from 1997 until the present of the entirety of the Town Councils of the Balearic Islands in their adaptation to the Web as an instrument of corporate communication, and analyzes through a study conducted by the Balearic Autonomous Community the status of the content of those corporate web sites. The fifth concludes the study by presenting a series of conclusions concerning above all the convergence between the reality described by the indicators of the citizens’ Internet use, and the presence of the Town Councils on the Web and the content of their sites.

Resumen: En este artículo se analiza la polémica que surgió en Estados Unidos en 1998 entre la pervivencia de la biblioteca tradicional y una nueva forma de entender la información en las librerías de las grandes superficies comerciales. Después de una breve historia del origen de las grandes librerías y su posterior integración en las grandes superficies comerciales se examina como ha influido en la biblioteca esta nueva práctica empresarial. Cómo pretende convertir al usuario en cliente y obligarle a pagar por determinados servicios bibliotecarios. Por último, reflexiona de la manera que la popularización del ordenador y la irrupción de Internet han reforzado el papel de la biblioteca como centro difusor de las nuevas tecnologías y la figura del bibliotecario como mediador clave entre éstas y el usuario.
This paper deals with the debate that took place in the United States in 1998 regarding the type of libraries that best suited the times. Different critics argued for and against the role of traditional libraries as compared with that of large bookstores. Special attention is paid to the commercial transaction that book loaners effect in some libraries nowadays when they order books and have to pay for the services which they are offered. This new function of libraries whose services are no longer free of charge, is compared in this article to the kind of relationship that is maintained between booksellers and potential buyers of books. Modern libraries tend to offer increasing number of products, often related to new technologies, and the librarian now acts as mediator between these new commodities and their purchasers.

Resumen: Se plantea, primero, de forma general el uso de libros prohibidos, especialmente grimorios, durante el siglo XVI en relación con el arte de nigromancia. Se analizan dos procesos inquisitoriales por nigromancia sustentados en la posesión de grimorios celebrados en Zaragoza en 1509 y 1511. Especialmente se estudian la producción y la transmisión de este tipo de libros a tenor de la información obtenida en este tipo de fuentes.
The use of prohibited books in Spain in the 16th century, grimoires specially, is considered. Two processes for necromancy of the Spanish Inquisition in Zaragoza in 1509 an 1511 are presented. From these processes the production and transmission of grimoires are analysed.

Resumen: Medina del Campo en el siglo XVI tiene un importante comercio de libros, concentrado primero en las ferias y después de 1540 a través de libreros establecidos de forma permanente en esa ciudad. Un pleito iniciado en 1541, custodiado en el Archivo de la Real Chancillería de Valladolid, promovido por Juan Brocar, impresor y librero de Alcalá de Henares, con Pedro Sandón y Ginés Formil, mercaderes, que tienen poderes de Juan Pedro Musete, mercader de libros de Medina del Campo, para cobrar en su nombre diversas cantidades que le adeudan varios libreros. Ese documento nos permite conocer los nombres de treinta y siete libreros dispersos por España, clientesde Musete, y la distribución de impresos por ciudades universitarias y catedralicias.
In the XVI century, Medina del Campo has an important book commerce, first focused on the fairs and, after 1540, developed through the booksellers permanently settled down in that town. Kept in the Archive of the Royal Chancery from Valladolid, there is a lawsuit started out in 1541 and launched by Juan Brocar, printer and bookseller from Alcalá de Henares, against Pedro Sandón and Ginés Formil, merchants in charge of getting the amounts of money some booksellers must satisfy to Juan Pedro Musete, bookseller from Medina del Campo. This document allows us to know thirty seven people’s names, Musete’s customers and booksellers scattered all over Spain. Moreover, it affords us the opportunity to discover some books spread throughout some university and cathedral cities.

Resumen: Descripción y contextualización de seis impresos vallisoletanos relacionados con Galicia: tres privilegios otorgados por Felipe III correspondientes a tres juros de heredad comprados por la Iglesia de Santiago (Juan de Bostillo, 1600), una bula del Monasterio de Santo Toribio de Liébana (Laurencio de Ayala, 1602) que se reprodujo fraudulentamente en Santiago y que llevó a la cárcel al tipógrafo compostelano Juan Pacheco, una notificación del traslado de la fiesta de Santa Teresa de Jesús (Viuda de Francisco de Córdoba, 1629) que favorecía los intereses del copatronato teresiano frente al patronato único de Santiago y una cartilla para el rezo de los santos en la diócesis compostelana para el año 1672 (Juan Antolín de Lago, 1671).
Description of six documents printed in Valladolid and related to Galicia: three privileges granted by Felipe III, corresponding to three rights of perpetual ownership of you inheritance bought by the Church of Santiago de Compostela (Juan de Bostillo, 1600), one bull of the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liébana (Laurencio de Ayala, 1602) which was reproduced fakely in Santiago by the typographer Juan Pacheco who was eventually taken to jail, a notification of the change of the celebration of Santa Teresa de Jesús (Viuda of Francisco de Córdoba, 1629) who favored the interests of the teresiano copa- tronage against the patronage of Santiago and a hornbook for the prayer of the saints in the compostelan’s diocese for the year 1672 (Juan Antolín de Lago, 1671).

Resumen: La Colección de teatro y música de la Biblioteca Histórica Municipal constituye una de las más importantes fuentes para el estudio de la música, el teatro y el arte escénico, en especial de los siglos XVIII y XIX. Fue catalogada de forma incompleta entre 1898 y 1902 por un reducido equipo de bibliotecarios municipales dirigidos por Carlos Cambronero. Desde hace tiempo se viene insistiendo en la necesidad de contar con un repertorio que describa todas estas obras. Para adoptar el modelo descriptivo más idóneo se ha creído necesario analizar el contexto en el que se producen estos materiales objeto de estudio: los apuntes de teatro, definidos como los cuadernos, manuscritos o impresos, que contienen, además del texto dramático, las indicaciones y anotaciones para la puesta en escena de una obra teatral que fueron utilizados por los apuntadores, el director de la compañía o autor, el primer actor o el encargado de la escenografía. Las peculiares características de esta producción dramática plantean dificultades para su catalogación, cuyas propuestas de descripción se han tratado de exponer y ofrecer en varios ejemplos.
The theatre and music collection of the Municipal Historic Library contains one of the most important sources of study for music, theatre and stage art for the 18th and 19th century. It was placed in catalogs, however incompletely, between 1898 and 1902, by a small group of librarians in the municipal library system headed by Mr. Carlos Cambronero. For a long time now the collection is believed to be in need of a more complete description including all the works. In order to adopt the ideal format for describing the complete collection it is believed necessary to analyze the context in which these works were produced. The theatre stagenotes (apuntes de teatro), sketchbooks, manuscripts or prints, which contain in addition to the dramatic text, the stagenotes or instructions for staging of a theatre piece form this collection. This material was used by actors` aids , the director of the company or sometimes the main actor or producer. The peculiar characteristics of this collection of dramatic pieces pose problems for the cataloguing of the work. Examples of the descriptions given to this type of work has been placed forth in order to highlight the problem.

Resumen: En este trabajo se muestra el uso documental de la moneda como elemento político y propagandístico del último gobierno de Fernando VII (1833), ya que estando inmerso en una complicada crisis, tanto dinástica como política, que auguraba una casi segura guerra civil, aprueba la modificación de los tipos y leyendas de su principal moneda (el Duro de plata), con objeto de adecuarla a la nueva realidad política que se quería abrir a la muerte del rey, tanto con el acceso al trono de su hija Isabel II como de la entrada en el gobierno de elementos liberales que garantizaran el afianzamiento del constitucionalismo en España.
This item shows the documentary use of the coin as a means of propaganda used by the last government of Ferdinand VII (1833), who, in the middle of a dynastic and political crisis close to the civil war, ordered a change in the types and legends of his main coin, the silver “duro”, in order to make it more adequate to the new political situation that would take place after the king’s death, i.e., the crowning of his daughter and the entrance of new liberal ministers in the government, that were meant to reinforce the starting Spanish constitutionalism.

Resumen: En este artículo se expone un panorama de la evolución de la Bibliografía, disciplina científica, en el terreno universitario. Desde su nacimiento a mediados del siglo XIX, ligado a la Escuela Superior de Diplomática, su llegada a la Universidad y su paso por momentos de decadencia y mayor gloria a partir de los años 70, para terminar en el estado actual en el que se encuentra, tanto en materia de enseñanza como en el terreno de la investigación. Se repasan los momentos de mayor brillantez, así como los frutos obtenidos y su influencia fuera de las fronteras de la Facultad de Filología de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
The article offers a panoramic view of the evolution of Bibliography as a scientific discipline in the University. Parting from the origins in the mid-nineteenth century, in the context of the Higher School of Diplomacy, it studies the incorporation of the discipline in the Complutense University, the periods of decadence and the moments of splendour starting in the 1970s, before ending with a presentation of the current state of the discipline, both as a subject in the classroom and in the field of research. Special attention is given to the outstanding moments of this history, as well as to the most important achievements and to the influence of bibliography outside the Philology Faculty of Madrid’s Complutense University.

Resumen: Con motivo de la celebración del ciento cincuenta aniversario de la creación de la Escuela Superior de Diplomática se celebraron en la Facultad de Ciencias de la Documentación unas Jornadas los días 13 y 14 de diciembre de 2006. El tema de este artículo fue objeto de una de las conferencias, y, por su interés, hemos creído oportuna su publicación. Se trata de un estudio de los fondos generados por la Escuela de Diplomática en el desarrollo de su actividad. Se analiza su historia archivística, su dispersión, si la hubo, y se publica, con más detalle que en otros artículos, como se organizan los fondos existentes en el Archivo Histórico de la Universidad de Madrid.
On the occasion of the celebration of hundred fiftyth aniverssary of the “Escuela Superior de Diplomática” creation, it was celebrated a conference sing on 13th and 14th of the last December in the Document’s Sciences Faculty. The topic of this article was the subject of one of the lectures, and, for its interest, we have believed opportune its publication. It is a question of a study of the funds generated by “Escuela de Diplomática” in the development of its activity. We have analyzed its archive’s history, its dispersion, if it occurred, and published the organization of the documents in the Historical Archive of University of Madrid, in a more detailed way than in other articles.

Resumen: A través del análisis cuantitativo de las citas recibidas por los investigadores del Departamento de Biblioteconomía y Documentación de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), se ha realizado un estudio de los principales investigadores y obras gestadas en dicho departamento, así como la influencia en el entorno académico y profesional y en las temáticas más representativas del mismo. Se trata de un estudio de caso previo al análisis cualitativo de las citas, que se entiende como una herramienta para mejorar la precisión del tradicional método cuantitativo.
Using a methodology based on the cites received by the researchers of the “Biblioteconomía y Documentación” Area of the UCM, a study about main researchers and publications is done, also taking into account the influence of the UCM in other academic and profesional institutions, and the more relevant topics covered. It is a case study previous to the qualitative analysis of the cites, that is described and considered as a valid tool to improve the results of the traditional quantitative method.

Resumen: Las empresas constructoras para el desarrollo de su actividad necesitan información y documentación sobre sus potenciales clientes y sobre las obras a realizar. Esta información requiere un trabajo para su obtención, ya que en la actualidad hay numerosas instituciones que precisan los trabajos de las empresas constructoras. ¿Por qué no canalizar esta necesidad de captación de clientes de las constructoras a través de empresas de información y documentación?
The civil engineering companies in the development of their activity need information and documentation about the future customers and about the works to make. This information applies a previous study, because there is a lot of institutions which need the works of the civil engineering companies. Why can not have information and documentation companies making this?
